‘Monster Museum’ released! (GTW64) - February 22, 2009
After a month of discovery and tracing the game’s author, GTW is proud to present the long lost Monster Museum in its final state.

This is a game which is about 90% complete and features qualities / simularities to other Palace titles like Barbarian 2 and the author’s original Dan Dare. The game also includes some previously unheard tunes by the late Richard Joseph which makes things even more special with the release. Check it out and enjoy this long lost Palace game!…

add a comment“Meantime” a top RPG GTW - February 22, 2009
We’ve seen countless many games disappear into the myst without a screenshot or even a title left behind. This is not the case of Meantime (you may remember this title from GTW64’s coverage), one of the most popular vapourware (not so whimsical actually) according to gamers expectations.
This Interplay RPG evolved from Wasteland engine while sharing same development team, yet it’s not a follow-up. It came to a hault when the 8 bit market collapsed, bringing the end to the AppleII and C64 editions. It was then later revived in DOS just to come to the same conclusion. With the debut of advanced engines like Ultima VII , the competition would have been very unfair we guess!

add a commentA trio of unreleased Atari games… - February 11, 2009
A general post and old news really, but something that may interest followers of all things prototype/unreleased…
Piracy harmed a lot the software industry (and still does of course) - so normally its a negative thing… but in this case a positive thing!… Piracy managed to preserve three Atari 8 bit games that would be lost otherwise.
- Hunchback by Ocean
- The Last Guardian by Tynesoft
- Tagalon by Tynesoft

2 commentsZoo Keeper (VCS) remains found - February 9, 2009
Thanks to Fabrizio for highlighting this one, but AtariAge has recently posted news of a recent discovery of some long lost character animations for the never released/completed Zoo Keeper on the Atari 2600 console. You can check the YouTube video out below.
The game conversion was thought to be mythical for many years, but in 2005, a sound demo was painstakingly constructed from some source code and posted on AtariAge. Now in 2009 the character animations have been discovered.
Check out the main AtariAge site and its forum for discussions on the prototype and a higher quality video clip of the animations.
